Arrangement Note:
This version starts an octave higher than commonly written and descends to "Shenandoah"
which is more convenient for our flute with their limited range of pitches. Historically,
the eariest versions of this melody, known as "Shananadore", also began this way. Instead
of keeping to the 6/8 or 12/8 time of these earlier versions, this arrangement simplifies
the melody to 4/4 time and provides places for the player to breath.
Oh, Shenandoah, I long to hear you. Away I'm bound to go 'cross the wide Missouri.
